Description of the 4-day, 3-night Tour (Copacabana, Uyuni, La Paz)

FIRST DAY: WELCOME - ISLA DEL SOL - COPACABANA - LA PAZ

Upon your arrival in the city of Copacabana, you will be greeted by our staff, who will transfer you to the pier to board a boat, initiating our journey across Lake Titicaca towards the Isla del Sol. In the southern part of the island, we will visit the Inca ruins of “Palacio de Pilcocaina,” an ancient palace exclusively for the Inca. Later, we head to Yumani, where the “Inca Stairway” leads to the “Fountain of the 3 Waters.” Tradition dictates that those who drink from its waters will have eternal life.

After capturing some photographs of the lake and the spectacular Cordillera Real in the background, we return to our boat to go back to Copacabana and explore more of the town, rich in Andean/Christian religious syncretism. Here, you’ll find the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana, the patroness of Bolivia.

At 18:30, we take a bus to La Paz, arriving at the La Paz terminal around 22:00 approximately, where our transportation will be waiting to take you to the hotel.

SECOND DAY: LA PAZ - TIWANAKU - LA PAZ

At 08:30, we pick you up from your hotel and begin the journey through the vast Altiplano, enjoying a landscape characterized by Andean crops and small houses made of mud bricks called ‘adobes.’

Our destination is the town of Tiwanaku, where the country’s most important archaeological complex is located.

To start our approach to this impressive culture, we will visit the local museum for an introduction to the Tiwanaku heritage.

Later, we embark on our 3500-year journey into the past, visiting the archaeological site whose main attraction is the Puerta del Sol, one of the most important archaeological pieces on the continent, a door carved from a single piece of rock.

In addition, we will explore some ruins of great architectural and iconographic richness from this enigmatic pre-Inca culture: the Temple of Kalasasaya, believed to be a ritual platform built using giant blocks of red sandstone, the Semi-Subterranean Temple, and the Pyramid of Akapana, making this place one of Bolivia’s main points of interest. Return to the city of La Paz around 16:30.

THIRD DAY: LA PAZ

At 09:00, we pick you up at your hotel to start the tour. The journey begins with a visit to the Witch’s Alley, where you can appreciate crafts and elements for Andean rituals offered to ‘Pachamama’ (Mother Earth). We continue by visiting the exteriors of the Basilica of San Francisco, the most representative religious temple of Baroque-Mestizo style in Bolivia. Later, we head towards Plaza Murillo, where the Legislative Palace, the Government Palace, and the Cathedral are located. We then enter a museum on Jaén Street, a beautiful and small heritage street that reflects the colonial past of the city. Our tour continues to a panoramic viewpoint, providing a beautiful view of the city of La Paz.

Finally, we head to the southern part of the city to reach the Valley of the Moon, a natural formation that, as a result of erosion and its significant clay composition, rain, and wind, has created a valley of stalagmites.

Return to the hotel and free afternoon.

FOURTH DAY: FAREWELL

At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport/bus terminal to continue your journey to your next destination.

■ On the third day, you will have the afternoon free.
